Understand the network before deciding what to change.

The Network Baseline Review converts available configuration, inventory, controller information, documentation, and stakeholder context into a clear operational baseline.

Typical situation

The network works, but confidence is low.

Documentation is incomplete. Equipment age or backups are uncertain. Recurring complaints have not been explained. A refresh, office move, provider transition, or other decision is approaching.

The review creates a dependable starting point without turning a modest environment into an enterprise-scale project.

Objectives

  • Establish the current logical topology and device baseline
  • Identify evidence-backed operational concerns
  • Record what could not be verified
  • Prioritize actions by business impact and practical urgency
  • Give management a clearer basis for investment and sequencing

Method

A controlled review from qualification to closeout.

Automated tools can support consistency, but every client-facing qualification and finding is reviewed by an identified person with a decision, rationale, and date.

Qualification

Confirm size, access, technology, urgency, desired outcome, and remote-delivery fit.

Scope confirmation

Record included systems, information sources, deliverables, assumptions, exclusions, responsibilities, and change control.

Discovery and access

Use the least access necessary: read-only access, client-controlled sessions, approved exports, or guided screen sharing.

Evidence review

Review topology, managed devices, VLANs, wireless controller information, resilience, backups, lifecycle, visibility, and documentation.

Assessment

Classify each relevant item as Pass, Concern, Not Verified, or Not Applicable. Only confirmed concerns receive a severity.

Findings and roadmap

Separate rated findings from items requiring investigation, then order practical actions by timeframe.

Executive report

Prepare a concise report, logical diagram, inventory, evidence-backed findings, limitations, and roadmap.

Findings meeting and closeout

Review priorities, correct factual errors, deliver the final package, remove access, and close the engagement.

Schedule: the expected calendar is confirmed after qualification and access readiness. Arkis does not promise emergency turnaround. Material differences in size, access, technology, or desired output require rescoping.

Client responsibilities

  • Provide accurate environment and timing information
  • Arrange approved read-only access, exports, or screen sharing

Important limitations

  • Not a penetration test, security audit, or compliance assessment
  • Not a physical wireless survey or cabling inspection

  • Remote evidence can be incomplete and time-sensitive
  • A Pass is not a guarantee that defects are absent
  • Recommendations require separate approval and change control
